Course Description:

Participants will be grouped into triads of 3 people. There will be 3 practice sessions over the 2 days. In each practice session, one participant will be the therapist, one participant will be the client, and one participant will observe. Participants will rotate roles, so that they experience all 3 roles over the course of the 2 day training. Practicum groups will be facilitated by Danielle Ciccone and Michele Topel, Co-Founders of Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™ Institute. 

For those who are interested, we can refer you to medical providers who are able to prescribe ketamine to participants deemed medically and psychologically eligible. Participants will be responsible for the cost of their own medical evaluation (paid to the medical provider) as well as the cost of their prescription (paid to the pharmacy). 

You will not be eligible for a ketamine prescription if you have any of the following contraindications, so we advise that you do not register for this course if you have any of these conditions and intend to receive ketamine as part of the training: 

Medical Contraindications

• Cardiac conditions, including uncontrolled hypertension
• Pregnancy/nursing 
• Severe breathing problems
• Ketamine allergy or sensitivity 

Psychological Contraindications

• Dissociative disorders
• Psychotic disorders
• Mania (Bipolar I)
• Unstable substance use disorders 

The decision about eligibility is ultimately up to the medical provider, so there may be other reasons why you are deemed ineligible. If a participant is deemed ineligible after the medical evaluation, or prefers to opt out for any reason, they can still participate in the training without experiencing the medicine.
